Terms of Service — Premier Auto Birmingham
Effective date: 11th of November, 2025
These are the ground rules so your rental is smooth and fair for everyone. If anything here feels unclear, text or call us at (205) 984-3177—a real person in Birmingham will help.
1) Who can rent
- Age & ID: Renter/driver is typically 25+ with a valid government driver’s license and a payment card in the same name.
- Safety check: We may ask for an extra ID or quick verification to prevent fraud.
2) Where we meet (handoff & return)
- Our standard service is Birmingham-Shuttlesworth (BHM)—curbside or short-term garage.
- For weddings or select events, we can stage at approved venues when requested and confirmed in writing.
- Unless your confirmation says otherwise, returns happen at BHM.
3) Booking, quotes & payment
- Clear quote: You’ll get a simple written quote with your price, taxes/fees, refundable deposit, and the handoff details.
- When it’s confirmed: Your booking is locked once you approve the quote and we confirm.
- Payment method: Major credit cards in the renter’s name. The card must match your ID.
4) Security deposit (refundable hold)
- We place a refundable hold before handoff. The amount depends on the vehicle and date.
- After an on-time, damage-free return and a quick check, we release the hold. Your bank controls how fast the funds show back up.
5) Changes, reschedules & cancellations
- How to request: Reply to your confirmation (text/call) with your name, dates, and “Change” or “Cancel.”
- Refunds: Timing windows live on our Refund Policy page.
- Rescheduling: We’ll try to move your handoff. Any change fee or price difference is shown before you approve.
- No-show: If we don’t hear from you within the handoff window at BHM, it counts as a late cancellation.
6) Weather & unexpected events
- If severe weather or airport disruptions hit, we’ll work within policy to reschedule, subject to availability and current pricing.
- Force majeure: We aren’t responsible for things outside our control (natural disasters, widespread outages), but we’ll communicate fast and offer the practical options we have.
7) During your rental (reasonable use)
Please treat the car like it’s yours and follow all laws.
- No illegal or reckless use.
- No smoking or vaping in the vehicle.
- Pets: Allowed only if approved in advance and properly contained/protected; extra cleaning may apply.
- Tickets/parking: You’re responsible for tolls, tickets, and safe parking.
- Privacy: We don’t run continuous customer GPS tracking. We may use brief condition photos or built-in systems for security and documentation.
8) Additional drivers
- Only approved drivers may operate the vehicle.
- Adding a driver requires ID/insurance checks and written approval before handoff.
9) Fuel & cleanliness
- Use the fuel shown on the cap/owner info (premium for many models).
- Return the car reasonably clean. Smoking, strong odors, or excessive mess can lead to cleaning fees listed in your agreement.
10) Accidents, damage & roadside help
- Safety first—call 911 if anyone is hurt.
- Then call/text us right away so we can guide the next steps.
- Take photos/video (when safe). Don’t authorize repairs without our written OK.
- You’re responsible for the vehicle during your booking. Many personal policies with Liability, Comprehensive, and Collision transfer—we’ll help you verify before payment.
11) Photos & media
- We take quick condition photos at handoff/return.
- We’ll never use your image, name, or trip photos in marketing without your explicit permission.
12) Substitutions & our right to decline
- If a specific color/trim becomes unavailable, we may offer a comparable substitute or a refund per the Refund Policy.
- We may decline or cancel a booking (with a refund) if we believe the use is unsafe, fraudulent, or outside policy.
13) Liability limits
To the extent the law allows:
- We aren’t liable for indirect or incidental losses (missed flights, business loss) caused by delays, traffic, or third parties.
- Nothing here limits liability where the law says it cannot be limited.
14) Dispute resolution & governing law
- These terms follow the laws of the State of Alabama.
- We’ll try to fix issues quickly and fairly. If we can’t resolve something informally, disputes go to the courts of Jefferson County, Alabama, unless the law requires another forum.
15) Updates to these terms
When we update this page, we’ll change the Effective date above and post the new version. For major changes, we’ll also notify recent customers by text or email.
